Migration

Migrate from Gutenbricks in minutes

Changing a client-editing plugin used to mean rebuilding every template by hand. ClientWP ships a step-by-step migration: it scans your templates, maps the editable markings, variants and visibility switches, carries the content across every affected page, and writes a log you can review. A restore mode puts everything back if you change your mind.

The four-step migration

Both plugins keep running while you move, so you can go template by template on a live site. Everything is backed up first.

  1. 1

    Scan

Every template carrying Gutenbricks data is listed, with a preview of what will be translated and what needs a human decision. You see the full scope before anything changes.

  2. 2

    Migrate

Editable markings, variants, visibility switches and the template type all come across in one pass. The structure you built in Bricks stays exactly where it is.

  3. 3

    Content follows

Text, images, buttons, background images and field values are carried over on every affected page. Nothing is re-entered by hand.

  4. 4

    Review or roll back

A report per page, and a restore mode that returns templates and content to their previous state — not partially, fully. Both plugins keep running while you move.

The log is the proof

migration.log
→ Scanning templates for Gutenbricks data…
12 templates carrying editable markings found
3 templates with variants detected
2 templates need a human decision (flagged)
→ Mapping fields…
headline → text · body → wysiwyg · image → image
variants → img-right / img-left / stack
→ Backing up templates and content… done
→ Rewriting 184 pages… 184/184
→ Integrity check: 100%
→ Migration complete. Restore mode available.

You do not have to trust the process — you can read it. Every migration writes a log: which templates were scanned, which fields were mapped, which pages were rewritten, and which items needed your attention.

Why we built it

We built ClientWP's migration because we refused to do that work by hand one more time. On a site with forty templates and two hundred pages, manual migration is weeks of careful, error-prone work — and the site has to stay live the whole time.

On our own client projects, from a simple brochure to an enterprise multi-site, the migration ran in minutes, not weeks. Better for the client, easier for us, more stable than the workflow it replaced.

If Gutenbricks' direction worries you, the move is no longer the hard part. The migration is included in every licence.

Move with your eyes open

The migration is included in every plan. Scan, map, migrate, review — and roll back any single step if you change your mind.
